This pilot clinical trial studies how well whole-neck computed tomography perfusion scans work in imaging patients with head and neck tumors. Diagnostic imaging procedures, such as whole-neck computed tomography perfusions scans, may provide more information about the blood supply to head and neck tumors which may help doctors plan better treatment.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

I. To assess the difference in whole-neck computed tomography perfusion (WNCTP) parameters (blood volume \[BV\], blood flow \[BF\], capillary permeability \[CP\] and mean transit time \[MTT\]) between head and neck tumor masses (benign or malignant) and adjacent normal skeletal muscle within the same patient.

II. To assess whether the difference in WNCTP parameters between tumor masses and adjacent normal skeletal muscle is different between patients with benign tumor versus (vs.) malignant tumor.

III. To assess the correlation in WNCTP parameters between tumor masses and adjacent normal skeletal muscle.

IV. Determine if more suspicious cervical lymph nodes will be seen using the whole-neck coverage employed in WNCTP compared to the limited coverage of traditional neck CTP.

OUTLINE:

Patients undergo WNCTP scan over 2-3 minutes during standard of care computed tomography (CT).

After completion of study, patients are followed up within 2 days.

Whole-Neck Computed Tomography Perfusion Scan in Imaging Patients With Head and Neck Tumors

A Pilot Study of Whole-Neck CT Perfusion With the Toshiba Aquilion ONE ViSION-320 Detector Row CT Scanner for Use in Head &Amp; Neck Tumor Patients

Will be compared to traditional neck CTP. Within each patient, the number and sites of each suspicious lymph node will be recorded for the whole-neck imaging area. A 95% confidence interval for the proportion of patients whose status (lymph node negative \[LN-\] versus lymph node positive \[LN+\]) was changed based on the WNCTP image compared to standard of care will be constructed.

This pilot clinical trial studies how well computed tomography (CT) perfusion images work in assessing treatment response in patients with pancreatic cancer. Analyzing specific measurements on the CT perfusion images may help doctors better determine how a tumor responds to chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy and may help guide treatment for patients with pancreatic cancer.

OUTLINE:

Patients undergo CT perfusion sequence during the first 40 seconds of the baseline standard of care CT scan and during follow-up CT scans at 2 and possibly 4 months after chemotherapy, at 4-6 weeks after radiation therapy, or prior to definitive surgery.

After completion of the study, patients are followed up periodically for 2 years.

CT Perfusion Images in Assessing Treatment Response in Patients With Pancreatic Cancer

Evaluation of CT Perfusion Parameters as a Potential Biomarker for Treatment Response in Pancreatic Cancer

Assessed using logistic regression. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis will be used to examine the sensitivity and specificity of different thresholds for each parameter.

Will be defined by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1. Assessed using logistic regression. ROC curve analysis will be used to examine the sensitivity and specificity of different thresholds for each parameter. If multiple perfusion parameters are found to be predictive of response, a multivariate logistic regression model will be constructed with these variables. ROC analysis will also be used to summary the predictive performance of the multivariate model.

Assessed using Cox regression models. Multivariate Cox models will be constructed if multiple parameters are found to be predictive of survival.

The change in each CT tumor perfusion parameter between the pre-treatment scan and the post-treatment scan where response is assessed will be calculated. These changes will be compared between the responders and non-responders using the t-test or Mann-Whitney test.

This study assesses computed tomography (CT) perfusion imaging in predicting treatment response in patients with non-small cell lung cancer or tumors that have spread from the primary site (place where it started) to the lungs (metastases) treated with stereotactic ablative radiation therapy. CT perfusion imaging is a special type of CT that uses an injected dye in order to see how blood flow through tissues, including lung tissue. CT perfusion imaging of the lungs may help doctors learn whether perfusion characteristics of lung tumors may be predictive of response to treatment and whether lung perfusion characteristics can be used to follow response to treatment.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

I. To assess the feasibility of performing computed tomography (CT) perfusion imaging (CT perfusion imaging) at baseline, within 48 hours post-stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR), and at 2-4 months SABR in patients undergoing SABR for treatment of a lung tumor per standard of care.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

1. To determine the range (variability) of perfusion parameters at baseline, within 48 hours post-SABR, and at 2-4 months post-SABR
2. To assess the change in perfusion parameters at baseline, within 48 hours post-SABR, and at 2-4 months post-SABR
3. To correlate any change in perfusion parameters with circulating-tumor deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) levels at baseline, within 48 hours post-SABR, and at 2-4 months post-SABR
4. To correlate perfusion parameters with tumor response 1 year post-SABR

OUTLINE:

Patients receive an infusion of Isovue-200 and undergo CT perfusion imaging of the lungs at baseline, within 48 hours of first SABR, and at 2-4 months after completion of SABR. Cancer Personalized Profiling by Deep Sequencing (CAPP-Seq) will be conducted evaluate circulating-tumor DNA levels.

Perfusion parameters will be correlated with tumor control at 1 year post-SABR, with tumor control defined as no evidence of disease seen at the site of SABR by surveillance imaging at 1 year post-SABR.

After completion of treatment, patients are followed up at 2-4 months and then at 1 year.

This trial studies the use of computed tomography (CT) perfusion scans in detecting changes in blood flow to the liver after portal vein embolization in patients with liver cancer. CT perfusion scans use a standard contrast drug given by vein to measure blood flow to the liver. CT perfusion scans may predict the rate and amount of growth of new, healthy tissue on one side of the liver after a portal vein embolization and detect change to the size of the liver tumor as result of the procedure.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

I. To assess whether perfusion changes to the liver following portal vein embolization (PVE) correlate with hypertrophy of the future liver remnant (FLR).

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

I. To assess perfusion changes to liver tumors following PVE. II. To assess whether PVE may affect tumor growth.

OUTLINE:

Prior to PVE, patients undergo CT perfusion scan of the liver and liver biopsy over 15 minutes. Patients undergo a second CT perfusion scan immediately after PVE and a third CT perfusion scan 3-6 weeks post PVE.

CT Perfusion Scans in Detecting Changes in Blood Flow to the Liver After Portal Vein Embolization

To Evaluate Perfusion Changes to the Liver Following Pre-Operative Portal Vein Embolization for Patients With Liver Cancer

Will assess whether perfusion changes to the liver following PVE correlate with hypertrophy of the future liver remnant (FLR). Perfusion and FLR hypertrophy are two continuous variables. Each patient will serve as his/her own control. Perfusion to the liver (1) before PVE, (2) immediately after PVE, and (3) 3-6 weeks following PVE will be measured and compared. The changes in perfusion will be compared with FLR hypertrophy at the 3-6 week time point to assess correlation.

Will assess perfusion changes to liver tumors following PVE and whether this may affect tumor growth kinetics. Each patient will serve as his/her own control. Perfusion to the liver tumor(s) (1) before PVE, (2) immediately after PVE, and (3) 3-6 weeks following PVE will be measured and compared. Since a percutaneous biopsy will be performed of a single liver tumor before PVE and the tumor explant will be available following surgical resection, changes to tumor cellular proliferation following PVE can be assessed.

This phase II trial studies how well computed tomography perfusion imaging works in predicting outcomes in patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer who are receiving bevacizumab. Computed tomography perfusion imaging monitors the effects of the drug treatment on the blood flow to the tumor, and may help to predict whether a certain drug therapy is likely be successful in a patient with ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

I. To evaluate whether those patients with an increase in perfusion computed tomography (CT) tumor blood flow (BF) from T0 to T1 demonstrate poorer progression-free survival (PFS) compared to those patients with a decrease in BF from T0 to T1, among platinum-resistant, recurrent ovarian cancer patients treated with bevacizumab.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

I. To evaluate whether change in perfusion CT tumor BF from T0 to T1, as a continuous variable, is associated with PFS.

II. To evaluate whether changes in perfusion CT tumor blood volume (BV) or permeability surface product area (PS) from T0 to T1 are associated with PFS.

III. To evaluate whether changes in perfusion CT tumor BF, BV, or PS from T0 to T1 are associated with response rate according to the standard anatomic response evaluation criteria (RECIST 1.1).

IV. To identify which combination of perfusion CT parameters, including tumor BF, BV, and PS, can serve to optimally distinguish patients in terms of PFS outcome.

V. To evaluate whether the association between change in perfusion CT parameters and treatment outcome (PFS or tumor response) is stable when analyzed with various commercially-available post-processing software.

TERTIARY OBJECTIVES:

I. In the subset of patients with multiple, eligible perfusion target lesions within the CT imaging volume, describe the variability of perfusion CT changes across different lesions within the same patient, and evaluate the impact of multiple target lesions on the association between change in perfusion CT parameters and PFS.

II. In a subset of patients, measure the reliability of perfusion CT parameters by analyzing the same perfusion imaging dataset using different readers and different post-processing software.

OUTLINE:

Patients undergo computed tomography perfusion imaging at baseline and on day 15 after initiation of standard of care bevacizumab treatment and before the second dose.

After completion of study, patients are followed up every 8 weeks for up to 18 months.

Perfusion CT in Predicting Outcomes in Ovarian, Fallopian, or Peritoneal Cancer With Bevacizumab

Perfusion CT to Predict Progression-Free Survival and Response Rate in Bevacizumab Treatment of Platinum-Resistant Persistent or Recurrent Epithelial Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Peritoneal Carcinoma

The PFS of patients with increased tumor blood flow (BF) from T0 to T1 will be compared with that of patients with decreased tumor BF from T0 to T1. Kaplan-Meier survival curves will be generated, and a two-sided log-rank test will be used to compare PFS between the two groups.

Will be assessed by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1.
