The surgery treatment selection was based on the American Joint Committee on Cancer stage both of the primary and of the recurrence, as well as on patterns of local spread that were not included in the T classification and on the general condition and preferences of each patient.

Advanced laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) remains a highly morbid and fatal disease despite aggressive interventions. Mortality is high in this cohort: laryngeal cancer affects over 13 000 patients in the United States, with over 3500 deaths annually.The results of the Veterans Affairs Cooperative Studies Program Laryngeal Cancer Trial and subsequent studies demonstrated similar overall survival (OS) rates for organ preservation protocols involving radiotherapy (RT) or chemoradiotherapy (CRT) when compared to surgery, with the benefit of preserving the larynx in a large majority of patients. As such, the use of RT or CRT has become the predominant initial intervention for patients with laryngeal SCC.However, the prognosis of recurrent and persistent laryngeal SCC is particularly dire.In this study,the investigators sought to identify preoperative predictors of survival for patients with recurrent or persistent laryngeal SCC in order to set patient expectations and address modifiable risk factors. Identification of predictors of survival may also identify patients who could benefit from novel therapeutic agents in a neo/adjuvant fashion. Herein,we examine a cohort of patients with recurrent or persistent laryngeal SCC after definitive RT/CRT who has undergone total laryngectomy in order to identify potential preoperative predictors of clinical outcomes.

Demographic, clinical, and survival data were abstracted. Death was verified via medical records and the social security death index. Primary outcome measures were OS (time from salvage laryngectomy to death from any cause), disease-specific survival (DSS; time from salvage laryngectomy to death from recurrent/persistent laryngeal SCC), and DFS (time from salvage laryngectomy to laryngeal SCC recurrence)

This retrospective study focuses on benign and malignant classification of thyroid nodules using deep learning techniques and evaluates the value of deep learning based nomograms in the classification of TI-RADS category 4 thyroid nodules to improve the accuracy of benign and malignant identification of TI-RADS category 4 thyroid nodules.

Materials and methods: Patients who visited in The First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University ＆ Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital were collected. Their general clinical features, information on preoperative ultrasound diagnosis, and postoperative pathologic data were reviewed.

The Application Value of Deep Learning-Based Nomograms in Benign-Malignant Discrimination of TI-RADS Category 4 Thyroid Nodules

Based on the characteristics of benign and malignant thyroid nodules, the dataset was divided into a training set and a test set using the cross-validation method, and the YOLOv3 model was trained using data from the training set, and the performance of the model was evaluated using data from the test set.The model is evaluated using a number of metrics such as: precision-recall curve, effective classification precision, confusion matrix and area under the curve.

The researchers selected patients with TI-RADS category 4 thyroid nodules within 1 year to comprise the dataset. The researchers analyzed the clinical factors in the dataset and analyzed the significance of these clinical factors on the statistical results and clinical characteristics using the Wilcoxon two-sample rank sum test or chi-square test.

This is an observational, prospective (study following participants forward in time), multi-center (study conducted in more than 1 center) study to identify the risk factors, then develop and validate the predictive Nomogram of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) that will effectively predict the early onset mCRPC in patients receiving androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT). The entire duration of study will be approximately 3 year. Participants will primarily be evaluated for achieving biochemical or radiological progression after receiving ADT based on EAU 2017 practice guideline criteria. Serum testosterone, prostate specific antigen (PSA), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and blood routine will be monitored throughout the study.

Development and Validation of Predictive Nomogram for Castration Resistant to Androgen Deprivation Therapy in Patients With Advanced Prostate Cancer

The definition mCRPC is that the castrated androgen \< 50 ng/dL or 1.7 nmol/L plus either;

1. Biochemical progression: Three consecutive rises in PSA one week apart resulting in two 50% increases over the nadir, and a PSA \> 2 ng/mL or,
2. Radiological progression: The appearance of new lesions: either two or more new bone lesions on bone scan or a soft tissue lesion using RECIST (Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours) \[736\].

Symptomatic progression alone must be questioned and subject to further investigation.
