Brief Title: Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Stomach, Gastroesophageal, or Esophageal Cancer
Official Title: Phase II Study of FOLFIRINOX Chemotherapy for Treatment of Advanced Gastric, Gastro-esophageal Junction, and Esophageal Tumors
Study ID: NCT01928290
Brief Summary: This phase II trial studies how well combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with advanced stomach, gastroesophageal, or esophageal cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan hydrochloride, oxaliplatin, leucovorin calcium, and fluorouracil, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells.
