The investigators use several methods to educate patients of controllable factors like lifestyle counseling, and monitor the factors like BMI and other index until the statistics become normal.

Patients without any intervention and still have abnormal factors like BMI, etc.

The investigators do lifestyle counseling for PCOS patients and monitor the factors to normal level, like BMI, serum index etc.

Lifestyle Counseling

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors which affect ovarian response of PCOS patients with IVF-ET treatment, in order to provide predictive clinical index for the outcome of IVF-ET treatment in PCOS patients. After figuring out the controllable factors, researchers would be able to educate PCOS patients and improve the success rate while reducing the incidence of complications during the treatment at the same time.

Statistics of PCOS patients like age, BMI index and others would be collected. Through distributing questionnaires and query of past cases and collecting data recorded during the ovulation process like monitoring fluctuations in blood and ultrasonic monitoring results, researchers obtain the risk factors of the occurence of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome(OHSS) in IVF-ET treatment in PCOS patients and set up an OHSS prediction model, choose controllable factors in order to make up guidance and have intervention on patients with PCOS accordingly. The investigators expect this could improve the success rate of IVF-ET treatment in patients with PCOS, provide clues and assist to reduce the risk of the therapy.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a vegetable-based diet, physical activity program, and stress reduction training will reduce or maintain PSA levels, an indicator of prostate cancer progression, in men who have had their prostate gland removed following a prostate cancer diagnosis.

Following surgery or radiation of a primary early-stage prostate cancer (PrCA), one in three patients will experience an elevation in serum prostate antigen (PSA) within 10 years. For men whose primary treatment was prostatectomy, a PSA rise virtually always signals the spread of PrCA. After such evidence of recurrence, the "standard" treatment is medical or surgical castration. Castration results in reducing the PSA about 85% of the time, but it makes no difference whether such treatment occurs before or after the appearance of clinical symptoms of recurrence. This time interval between the first rise in PSA and symptom appearance may be many years. The most salient fact, however, is that castration does not prolong men's lives and it is not certain whether it even meaningfully delays symptom appearance in men who receive the treatment at the first sign of biochemical recurrence. Castration also has significant side effects including osteoporosis (bone loss), decreased muscle mass, impotence, and urinary incontinence. Because PrCA is usually a disease of older men, many will succumb to other diseases before they ever develop a symptom related to metastatic PrCA. For this large fraction of men, a treatment with deleterious affects on quality of life and no clear overall survival benefit may not be a good choice. The protocol the investigators propose will be performed instead of medical or surgical castration, which is not medically indicated at this point in the course of PrCA. Castration can and will be offered to these men at the first clinical symptom or sign of metastatic cancer, at which time those men will come off this study. It also is important to note that if the intervention results in reductions in PSA then the investigators will offer it to all men who had been randomized to the control condition initially. The investigators will conduct this randomized study in 60 asymptomatic men who have undergone radical prostatectomy (removal of the prostate gland) as their primary therapy of biopsy-confirmed adenocarcinoma of the prostate and subsequently have been found to have rising PSA levels, indicating an early recurrence of the cancer. Half (30) of these men will be randomized to usual care (watchful waiting) and the other half to an intervention consisting of a vegetable-based diet, program of physical activity timed to the natural rhythm of the day (i.e., circadian, or "around the day" - basically to timing of their exercise to improve their sleep cycles), and mindfulness-based stress reduction (consisting of meditation and other stress-reducing techniques). The intervention will continue for three months, followed by monthly booster sessions for 9 months. Data will be collected on compliance with the intervention and other factors that could modify the intervention or confuse our interpretation of its effect. The overall goal of the study will be to see the effect of making these behavioral and attitudinal changes on PSA levels, an indicator of disease progression in these men. The therapies the investigators will study are completely non-toxic and behavioral in nature.

This clinical trial evaluates a remotely delivered, culturally tailored weight loss interventions in Latina breast cancer (BC) survivors. Cancer is the leading cause of death among Latinos, and among Latinas, BC is the leading cause of cancer death. An estimated 80% of Latinas in the United States have overweight/obesity, which is associated with poorer BC outcomes. However, few, if any, effective interventions exist to promote and maintain weight loss in Latina BC survivors. The development of an adaptive program that provides survivors the support they need, as opposed to what is typically available, is essential to reducing persistent inequities in cancer survivorship.

OUTLINE: This study includes a baseline run-in and randomized stage I and stage II studies.

BASELINE: Participants receive written instructions and website link to an instructional video along with supportive materials including measuring tape, Aria wireless fidelity (WiFi)-enabled scale, and Actigraph accelerometer to be worn for 7 days at baseline. Patients also undergo blood sample collection at baseline.

STAGE I: Eligible participants from the baseline run-in are randomized to arm I or II.

ARM I: Participants participate in the online ¡Vida! program consisting of 26 health education online sessions, dietary modifications, and home-based exercise sessions on study. Participants receive supportive materials consisting of a Fitbit Aria scale, a Fitbit Luxe (or latest device), the Fitbit app, and access to the Cook for Your Life website on study. Patients also undergo blood sample collection on study.

ARM II: Participants participate in the online ¡Vida! program consisting of 26 health education online sessions, dietary modifications, and home-based exercise sessions on study. Participants receive supportive materials consisting of a Fitbit Aria scale, a Fitbit Luxe (or latest device), the Fitbit app, and access to the Cook for Your Life website on study. Participants also attend remote lifestyle health education sessions on study. Patients also undergo blood sample collection on study.

STAGE II: Participants who achieve \>= 2% weight loss (responders) at week 4 will continue their assigned interventions in stage I. Participants who achieve \< 2% weight loss (non-responders) at week 4 will be re-randomized to 1 of 4 arms. Participants who were assigned to arm I in stage I are randomized to arm III or IV. Participants who were assigned to arm II in stage I are randomized to arms V or VI.

ARM III: Participants receive interventions as in arm II.

ARM IV: Participants participate in the online ¡Vida! program consisting of 26 health education online sessions, dietary modifications, and home-based exercise sessions on study. Participants receive supportive materials consisting of a Fitbit Aria scale, a Fitbit Luxe (or latest device), the Fitbit app, and access to the Cook for Your Life website on study. Patients of study group was received a dose of 30 grams Gum Arabic per day as oral solution (dissolved in 250 ml purified water) for six weeks along with the chemotherapy prescribed addition to verbal instructions pertaining to the optimal nutrition and daily routine for oral hygiene.

Patients of control group was received only chemotherapy regimen and verbal counseling pertaining to the optimal nutrition and daily routine for oral hygiene.

Gum acacia, also known as Gum Arabic is exuded from acacia trees; mainly from Acacia Senegal (gum Hashab or Kordofan gum) which was used in this study.

This study was designed to investigate the effect of Gum Arabic (GA) on cancer patients to prevent chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis. Cancer patients who will receive chemotherapy were divided into two groups; study "Gum Arabic" group (which received GA with chemotherapy) and control group (chemotherapy alone); and the participants were recruited to reach 190 patients in the study group and 184 patients in control group. This clinical trial was conducted in outpatient chemotherapy sections at Radiation and Isotopes Center of Khartoum. This study was designed to test the theory that say the chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis will significantly decrease after ingestion 30 grams as daily dose of Gum Arabic in a form of solution for six weeks during therapy.

This is an experimental study. It was a two-arm randomized, controlled, open-label trial. The patients was categorized into two groups; study group and control group. Patients of study group was received a dose of 30 grams Gum Arabic per day as oral solution (dissolved in 250 ml purified water) for six weeks along with the chemotherapy prescribed, while patients of control group was received only chemotherapy regimen.

Using Gum Arabic for Cancer Patients to Protect From Oral Mucositis Caused by Chemotherapy: ِِِAn Experimental Study

Randomized Controlled Trial on the Effect of Gum Arabic to Reduce Incidence of Oral Mucositis Induced by Chemotherapy for Cancer Patients

The primary outcome measure of oral mucositis in cancer patients who received chemotherapy was depend on presence or absence oral mucositis after commencement the treatment because they were new diagnosed cases and free from oral mucositis. World Health Organization Mucositis Scale, was the scoring system used to assess oral mucositis based on a combination of subjective (soreness as described by the patient), objective (presence of erythema and ulcerations) and functional (ability to eat solids, liquids or nothing by mouth) outcomes.

During six weeks of follow up there were specific questions that asked by researcher and had been answered by patient regarding oral mucositis. Those questions summarized as follow: 1. Does the oral mucositis was occurred during this week? 2. If Yes. Is there was soreness, erythema or ulcers in mouth of participant? 3. The day that oral mucositis was started and eliminated? 4. If the patient belong to study group; Is Gum Arabic still used regularly?

This is a single arm, quasi-experimental, pre- and post- test study design to test the feasibility and acceptability of a multiple risk factor, lifestyle intervention in patients receiving surgical treatment for lung cancer or those suspected of having lung cancer.

The objective of this proposal is to test the feasibility and acceptability of a lifestyle risk reduction intervention for patients with lung cancer receiving surgical treatment. This study will provide the preliminary data needed to conduct a larger randomized controlled trial that tests an innovative, multidisciplinary intervention that has the potential to transform the standard of care for patients receiving surgical treatment for lung cancer.
