This is a study to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of epoetin beta 36,000 IU compared with placebo when administrated subcutaneously (s.c.) once-weekly for 12 weeks to anemic patients with lung cancer or gynecologic cancer undergoing chemotherapy.

FOLFIRINOX:

Irinotecan 180 mg/m2 Day 1 Oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2 Day 1 5-FU 400 mg/m2 bolus with Leucovorin 200 mg/m2 over 2h, Day 1, then 5-FU 2400 mg/m2 over 46h. Four cycles over 8 weeks

Chemoradiation:

Radiation to begin no sooner than 28 days from last day of chemotherapy.

On Day 1(+ 2days to accommodate scheduling difficulties):

Infusional 5-FU (225 mg/m2 continuous infusion during radiation) and radiation therapy as defined.

Determine the relapse-free survival of resected pancreatic cancer patients following two novel regimens with activity in advanced disease.

This trial is a randomized Phase II study of FOLFIRINOX versus gemcitabine/abraxane in patients with completely resected pancreatic cancer (Stages I-III). Patients will receive eight weeks of chemotherapy, then 5-FU/radiation, then another 8 weeks.

A Randomized Phase II/Genomic Trial of Two Chemotherapy Regimens in Patients With Resected Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

In this small trial we will regard a median progression-free survival of 20 months as indicative of potential therapeutic benefit meriting additional study.

Proton Therapy

The overall objectives of the study are to establish feasibility and acute side effects of accelerated partial breast irradiation therapy, along with more long-term side effects and clinical efficacy of treatment.

The purpose of the APBI Proton Therapy study is to examine the feasibility, side effects, and clinical efficacy of using proton therapy on only the tumor bed of women being treated for breast cancer after surgical removal of malignancy (as opposed to whole breast treatment). The study's aim is to establish the effects of this type of therapy as it compares to both traditional radiation and whole breast treatment therapies. In order to be eligible, the patient must be a female older than 50 with either invasive ductal, medullary, papillary, colloid (mucinous) or tubular histologies of stage IA-IIA breast cancer, ECOG performance status of 0-2, have margins of greater than or equal to 2mm, be node negative or have only microscopic node disease, have estrogen- or progesterone-positive breast cancer, and other eligibility criteria must be met that is more detailed to describe herein.

Patients will apply NeoVIDERM cream to the treatment area everyday one week before starting radiotherapy, throughout treatment and for two weeks post treatment. Patients will also perform standard of care skin treatment.

Patients will be asked to apply Aveeno cream twice a day starting the day of their treatment until two weeks after the end of their treatments. If they develop dry desquamation, they will be asked to apply Flamazine twice a day until dermatitis resolves.
