The aims of this study are to:

1. explore supportive care needs in colorectal cancer patients with treatment and survivors;
2. compare the supportive care needs in different stage of colorectal cancer;
3. identify the significant factors for the supportive care needs;
4. explore the supportive care needs within one year after newly diagnosis.

Both large scale cross-sectional survey and a prospective 1-year longitudinal panel study design will be used in this study. The cross-sectional survey is to examine the current status of supportive care needs perceived by different stage of colorectal cancer inpatients and outpatients including survivors. The 1-year longitudinal design is to explore the change of supportive care needs perceived by patients within one year after newly diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

The lung cancer is the most has the life minacity in all kinds of cancers, and it also remains the most common cause of cancer-related death in the world. The group of lung cancer patients are suffer from huge disease impact that came from high mortality. Not only the course of treatment that patients has been diagnosis through operation is more faster, but also those who could be capable of operated are stabilized to keep follow-up at out-patient clinic. But in the next following five years after operation, they may take different dysfunctional level or some kinds of symptom distress. The effect has a great influence on those patients that have to face extended emotional impact, symptom distress and life style change. In addition, most of them concern about recurrent all the time in the remission. These situation needs us to place importance on it.

The purposes of this study are to investigate psychological and physical distress and care needs in operable lung cancer patients receiving surgery. This survey includes two parts of physical and mental condition. First, the investigators are scoring their symptom severity and quality of life to check physical condition. Seconded, the mental condition will use validated questionnaires to realize the relationship of anxiety, depression, uncertainty, fear of recurrence, self-efficacy and needs. Final, compare all of the data to patients' needs.

This study is a cross-sectional designs with convenience sampling that conform to the investigators recruited requirements. The investigators will recruit from the clinic of thoracic surgery in one medical center in Taipei and take five structured requirements. And the investigators are going to collect data from January, 2011 to December, 2012. Also expect results are lung cancer outpatients after surgery that more physical dysfunction or more depress of mental condition, it will lead patients' needs increased or significant difference. In conclusion, this study analyzes their needs in the remission that consequences can be medical professionals' reference material.

Inclusion Criteria:

lung cancer patients after surgery stage I, II and IIIA surgery for 3 months to 5 years over 20 years old

Exclusion Criteria:

lung cancer recurrence conscious unclear and do not know having cancer used to be treat (surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy) in 3 months. be uncomfortable or cooperate to fill the questionnaire.

This study aims to fill the gaps in knowledge regarding the effects of cancer and its treatment on Hong Kong Chinese paediatric cancer survivors, especially during the transition period, to further capture a deeper understanding of the challenges, views and needs of Hong Kong Chinese paediatric cancer survivors and the key stakeholders around them via face-to-face conversations.

Objectives: Although increasing attention has been devoted to the development of paediatric cancer survivorship programmes, most of these studies have originated in Western countries. Given the cultural differences between Asian and Western communities, the applicability of the findings to paediatric cancer survivors in Asian cultural contexts is limited. To date, research remains scant regarding the needs and challenges of Hong Kong Chinese paediatric cancer survivors and the key stakeholders involved during the transition period after cancer treatment. Although Hong Kong paediatric cancer survivors do attend regular medical follow-up visits, most attention has been focused on their physiological care, while their psychosocial needs remain unmet. Accordingly, the aim of this proposed study will be to fill the gaps in knowledge regarding the effects of cancer and its treatment, especially will focus on psychosocial effects in Hong Kong Chinese paediatric cancer survivors during the transition period.

Design and subjects: A qualitative descriptive design will be used. A purposive sample of 15 paediatric cancer survivor participants and their parents or caregivers, five paediatric oncology nurses and three paediatric oncologists will be invited for a semi-structured interview conducted with the aid of an interview guide.

Data analysis: A thematic analysis approach will be used for data analysis.

Expected results: The findings of this study will provide an in-depth understanding of the needs, challenges and views of paediatric cancer survivors and other key stakeholders, which will greatly facilitate the future development of appropriate targeted paediatric cancer survivorship programmes.

The semi-structured interviews take place once after completion of the care pathway (after all appointments for check-ups associated with the treatment). The interview contains questions about the experience of patients with the care, the needs in this care, the experiences with the information received, the support/guidance, the turnaround time, the treatment received and areas for improvement.

The care of patients with high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in the head-neck area is complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach. A key component in this care is the need and experience of patients. However, studies on the experiences and needs of patients with high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in the head-neck region are lacking.

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most common form of skin cancer worldwide after basal cell carcinoma. It involves approximately 20% of all cutaneous malignancies and its incidence is still increasing. In 2020, nearly 15,000 cSCCs were reported in the Netherlands, of which approximately 50% concerned patients aged 75 years or older. UV radiation is the main risk factor for development of a cSCC, therefore the majority of cSCCs are localized to the sun-exposed skin in the head-neck region. cSCCs have a metastatic rate of 2.6-5% and recurrence rate of 1.9-3.7%, with rates increasing in high-risk cSCCs. The increasing incidence, advanced age, the (often) high-risk localization in the head-neck area (given functional and cosmetic importance) and the possible high risk of metastasis result in complex care, especially in stage T2 to T4 cSCCs, also known as high-risk cSCCs.

In this complex care, care pathways offer an excellent opportunity to improve multidisciplinary communication, patient satisfaction, quality and efficiency of care. In this, the experiences and needs of patients are of great importance. Previous research on the experiences and needs of patients with skin cancer is limited and particularly focused on melanomas. In 2017, a qualitative systematic review of the experiences and needs of patients with skin cancer found only two studies examining cSCCs. These studies showed that patients perceived clear information, attention to psychosocial aspects and attention to prevention as important.

In 2019, a study of the needs and experiences of patients with keratinocyte carcinomas, conducted through focus groups, showed similar results. Non of these studies examined cSCCs exclusively, nor did they differentiate by location. However, this appears to be relevant, because of the higher impact on the quality of life of patients with skin cancer in visible locations.

Additionally, studies have been conducted into shared-decision making as part of multidisciplinary care. Complex cases are currently often discussed multidisciplinary. However, several studies describe that such a multidisciplinary approach can impede multidisciplinary decision-making because the patient's perspective is often missing. Studies on the experience of patients with cSCCs in the head neck region are lacking.

The aims of this three-year study are to:

1. From patients and family perspective to explore the needs for home care after receiving TACE, PEI, and RFA
2. Develop a telephone follow-up and consultation program and examine its effect on self-efficacy, anxiety, depression and quality of life in liver cancer patients receiving non-surgical treatment.

In the first year, a longitudinal mixed method with quantitative and qualitative method will be used. The Distress Management Tool, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the Short Form-12 quality of life will be used to assess patients' care needs, anxiety, depression, and quality of life in the quantitative method. Data will be analyzed by descriptive, Pearson's Correlation, and Stepwise Regression for each time point. Tape-recorded and in-depth interviews with semi-structured interview guidelines will be used in qualitative method to interview the cancer patients who are scheduled to be discharged after treatment. Content analysis will be used to analyze the interview content.

In the second and third year, randomized control trial will be used to recruit eligible subjects from inpatients in oncology wards in one medical center in Taipei. The eligible subjects will be randomized into a control or experimental group. The patients in the control group will receive usual care and those in the experimental group will receive seven instances of telephone follow-up or face-to-face education (the day before discharge and during the first, second, third, fourth, sixth, and eighth weeks after discharge).Data will be analyzed by independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and generalized estimating equations.

This research will determine (a) the unmet needs of family caregivers of adult cancer patients and (b) determine the impact on stress, care burden and quality of life.

A cross-sectional questionnaire methodology will be used to answer the research questions. 510 family caregivers at different stages of patients' cancer journey will be recruited. The study duration is expected to take two years. Research findings will address the knowledge gap of caregivers' needs and stress, burden and quality of life and support plans to help caregivers.

The literature suggests that caregivers have unique psychological, emotional and lifestyle needs but there is a paucity of such information of caregivers in Singapore. As this study is exploratory, no a priori hylothesis has been made. The theoretical framework guiding this research is Fulfillment Theory in which the existence and perception of needs and need fulfillment are hypothesized to be antecedents to the experience of satisfaction about care.

A cross-sectional questionnaire methodology will be used to answer the research questions. Caregivers in this study are defined as: a family member who lends physical, emotional or other support to someone at any time during the cancer journey. A power calculation was not done, instead the sample size of 510 was based on what may be practically achievable and feasible for the duration of the short-term quantitative study. Descriptive statistics will be used to characterize the distribution of socio-demographic characteristics and caregiver-related information. Regression analysis will be used to evaluate difference in overall and domain specific needs across selected characteristics. Problems identified by caregivers will be dichotomized as present or absent and chi-square tests will be used to evaluate associations with selected characteristics.
