In outpatients clinic, the first group consists of 60 head and neck cancer patients who were treated by ours. The participants will given the document consists that "bit, bet, but" words and also a brief part of "Diyet passage" who written by Omer Seyffettin. The speech record of patients who read to document, will evaluated by three judges (otorhinolaryngologist). Three judges will scoring to Turkish translation of London Speech Evaluation Scale (LSE-T), consists of 6 parameters. After the six weeks, the records were scored again as randomisely.

The document consists "bit, bet, but" words and Diyet passage. Volunteers will read the document in front of the microphone and also the speech will recorded by a computer.

Purpose of the study is the validation and cultual adaptation of the Turkish translation of the London Speech Evaluation Scale (LSE-T), so that it would be used as an assessment tool for Turkish head and neck cancer patients. There is no validated Turkish version of LSE to measure severity of perceptual speech in head and neck cancer patients.

The speech function is a multidirectional process that depends on complex neuro-muscular network. The function can be evaluated using instrumental, such as voice analysis computer programmes, scales, or well structured questionnaires. There are many scales for assessment of perceptual speech but there is no validated for head and neck patients. The study will assess the construct validity and adaptation of the Turkish translation of Speech Specific Perceptual Speech Evaluation as known as London Speech Evaluation Scale. The investigators developed the Turkish translation of this scale (LSE-T), according to the cross-cultural adaptation guidelines. Two translators translated the LSE into Turkish and a native English language speaker reverse-translated it into English. The back translation was sent to the original author for proofreading. The LSE scale consisted of 6 parameters and 4 scores related with perceptual speech in head and neck cancer patients.

Turkish Translation of London Speech Evaluation Scale consists of 6 parameters and 4 scores. The minimum score is 0 and maximum score is 24. The lower scores mean a better than high scores.

The bridging of the gap between speech production and perception by the interlocutor would be made possible by the use of a more suitable and automatic task. An acoustic-phonetic decoding test (or DAP in French, i.e. the production of isolated pseudo-words in repetition or reading), created within the framework of the The French National Cancer Institute (InCA) C2SI project, avoids the effects of cognitive restoration by the interlocutor. An automatic score from the DAP would lead to an overall score per patient, but also to scores specific to each phonetic segment, to be correlated with the analytical scores from each anatomical oropharyngeal segment.

The study hypothesis is that the automatic processing of an acoustic-phonetic decoding task during the assessment in current practice is a valid and reliable tool for diagnosing oropharyngeal analytical and dynamic deficits by highlighting deficient linguistic units.

Fifth cancer in terms of incidence in France, tumor pathologies of the upper aero-digestive tract, due to their location, impact the speech abilities of affected subjects. Speech therapy in paramedical clinical assessments consist of two parts.

* The analytical part to highlight the anatomical and dynamic deficits of segments involved in speech.
* The functional part characterizes the pathophysiological impact by means of an "ear" assessment.

The link between anatomy and functional speech deficit is very close in oncology (the location and the size of the tumor, the structural changes due to the treatment who modify the oropharyngeal dynamics and the mechanisms involved in the production of the speech), but the correlation is weak between functional intelligibility scores and analytical motor scores. Indeed, the perception of speech by a human listener is not a simple "recording" of the production, but a representation of this production after implementation of individual mechanisms for restoring the acoustic information linked to the lexicon or to the context by the listener. The listener's degree of familiarity with the speaker or his pathology is also a source of variability.

This study aims to verify the impact of four speech therapy sessions on the Quality of Life of patients treated for malignant tongue and/or jaw cancer, using as measure specific questionnaires of speech and swallowing.

The hypothesis is that after treatment with exercises and speech therapy guidance, patients will present better indicators on Quality of Life related to speech and swallowing.

Swallowing and speech difficulties will be observed in patients post laryngectomy. These difficulties will cause decreased in quality of life.

This study will explore the characteristics of speech and swallowing problems of patients who underwent laryngectomy.The relationship between swallowing disturbances and speech difficulties will be studied and the effect of each problem on quality of life will be messured.

After recording the patients' speech the speech characteristics will be analysed according to specific parameters. Also after performing swallowing eveluation swallowing disturbances will be diagnosed and described.

After analyzing the speech and swallowing disturbances of patients post laryngectomy, the relationship between these variables will be examined.
