Functional Outcomes of The Bobath Neurodevelopmental Treatment Approach Applied to Patients With Brain Tumors: Comparison With Stroke Patients

The Stroke Rehabilitation Assessment of Movement Measure (STREAM) is a scale with scores ranging from 0 to 70, which is used to provide an understanding of the levels of movement and quality of hemiplegic patients.

The Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) is 18-item scale and is scored from 18 (total assistance in all areas) to 126 (complete independence). FIM consists of 13 motor (or physical) and 5 social-cognitive items, assessing self care, sphincter control, transfer, locomotion, communication, social interaction, and cognition. The results from the first 13 items (FIM motor) are summed to develop a motor score with a range of 13 to 91, and these items were used in this study.

Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) is a scale with scores ranging from 0 to 30, which allows the cognitive levels to be determined by examining the patient's orientation, recording memory, attention and calculation, recall, and language parameters. The score of 0 indicates that the patient has no cognitive functions, and the score of 30 indicates that the patient has a high level of cognitive functions.

Dynamic decompressive craniotomy with semi-rigid bone flap fixation

Dynamic craniotomy

Prospective observational study on patients undergoing decompressive craniotomy

A prospective study of 20 neurosurgical patients evaluating the dynamic decompressive craniotomy technique using NeuroVention, LLC craniotomy bone flap fixation plates. The plates allow for rigid and semi-rigid bone flap fixation dependent on the implantation technique. A dynamic craniotomy involves bone flap fixation wherein a limited transient outward bone flap movement is allowed by the plates to compensate for an increase in intracranial pressure from brain swelling. The plates also prevent the craniotomy bone flap from sinking inside the skull and compressing on the brain. Cerebral decompression surgery is undertaken for patients with cerebral swelling from malignant strokes, medically intractable intracranial pressure elevation in traumatic brain injuries and brain tumors. The dynamic craniotomy technique eliminates or reduces the need for a cranioplasty surgery with a potentially significant improvement in outcome.

The procedure will be done using standard criteria as per operator preference. All interventional cases at our institution undergo a "radial first" approach, meaning that the access site of choice is the radial artery. The investigators will measure the radial artery size to ensure that the artery is greater than 2.4 mm in order to use the Infinity catheter (8Fr).

Patients who are undergoing endovascular intervention will be enrolled into the study. As the metrics analyzed in this study are already normally collected, this study can be considered as a secondary use of the data. The procedure will be done using standard criteria as per operator preference. All interventional cases at the study institution undergo a "radial first" approach, meaning that the access site of choice is the radial artery. The investigators will measure the radial artery size to ensure that the artery is greater than 2.4 mm in order to use the Infinity catheter (8Fr).

Transradial approach

The main objective of this single arm study is to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the AXS Infinity LS (Stryker, Freemont, CA, USA) and AXS Infinity LS Plus (Stryker, Freemont, CA, USA) catheters during the transradial approach through a secondary use of the data collected during neurointerventional procedures. This includes evaluating the conversion rates to a transfemoral approach. A secondary aim of the study is to assess the radial artery occlusion rates post procedure.

Patients who are undergoing endovascular intervention will be enrolled into the study. Consent will be obtained for the procedure and for the use of their prospectively collected clinical data. As the metrics analyzed in this study are already normally collected, this study can be considered as a secondary use of the data. The procedure will be done using standard criteria as per operator preference. All interventional cases at the study institution undergo a "radial first" approach, meaning that the access site of choice is the radial artery. The investigators will measure the radial artery size to ensure that the artery is greater than 2.4 mm in order to use the Infinity catheter (8Fr). If the artery does not meet the size criteria, only a 6Fr sheath will be used, and the data recorded during the procedure will not be utilized for analysis in this study. The preoperative and postoperative care will be the same for all the patients. No tests will be done outside of standard of care.

* Individuals aged 18 years to 55 years.
* Minimal to moderate upper extremity deficits, including but not limited to limited mobility or dexterity impairments.
* Regular users of beauty products.
* Able to understand and communicate in the language of the study.

Participants will be provided with a selection of beauty products items including foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter, and lipstick, specifically chosen for their potential accessibility features. They will have a specified trial period during which they can use the products as part of their regular beauty routines.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the accessibility of beauty products for individuals with upper extremity disabilities. By examining various factors such as packaging design, product applicators, and ease of use, this research aims to identify barriers faced by individuals with upper extremity disabilities or visual deficits when using beauty products. The study seeks to provide insights and recommendations for improving the accessibility of beauty products, ultimately promoting inclusivity and enhancing the overall beauty experience for individuals with disabilities.

Individuals with upper extremity disabilities face unique challenges when it comes to using beauty products. These disabilities can include conditions such as limb loss, limited mobility, or dexterity impairments, which can significantly impact their ability to engage in self-care and beauty routines. The accessibility of beauty products is crucial to ensure that individuals with upper extremity disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in activities that promote self-expression and confidence.

Research in the field of accessible design has highlighted the importance of inclusive product development across various industries, including cosmetics and personal care. However, limited attention has been given specifically to beauty products and their usability for individuals with upper extremity disabilities.

To address this gap, studies are being conducted to assess the accessibility of beauty products and identify potential barriers and solutions. These studies typically examine factors such as packaging design, ergonomics of product applicators, ease of grip, and maneuverability. Exploring Accessible Beauty: A Study on Enhancing Beauty Product Accessibility for Individuals With Upper Extremity Deficits

It is a validated self-reported instrument to assess packaging of the makeup. A few questions will focus on shape of the cap, length of the wand, shape of the doe foot, finish of the components, how it affects grip, and weight of the component/applicator. Possible scores range from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).

Participants will complete questionnaires that assess their demographics, disability characteristics, and previous experiences with beauty products.

Participants will evaluate the beauty products based on predefined criteria, including ease of grip, maneuverability, packaging design, and product applicators. They will document their experiences, challenges faced, and any suggestions for improvements. Possible scores range from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).

Participants will assess changes in their perceptions and experiences with the beauty products. This will include questions about satisfaction, usability, and any perceived improvements in accessibility. Possible scores range from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).
